St Nicholas’ Day Festival
One of our favourite events of the year is nearly here! Friday 7 December sees our annual St Nicholas’ Day Festival, and is the day the Sowerby Village Christmas Lights are switched on. The evening starts at 6.30pm with a Carols & Nativity service in church, during which there will be a collection in aid of The Children’s Society. Following the service at 7.30pm is the Christmas Fair with stalls in church and across the road at St Peter’s Community Centre – a perfect chance for some Christmas shopping at a great variety of stalls and fun with the little ones with face painting and Santa’s Grotto. There’s tombolas, a lucky dip and no Christmas Fair is complete without having a glass of mulled wine (and other refreshments!). And don’t forget to get your raffle tickets – we’ve nearly 20 prizes generously donated by local businesses and individuals – the draw takes place at approx 9pm as the evening comes to a close. We’re looking forward to seeing lots of you there.
